What does the ticket include?
Entry to the Cappella Palatina and the Palazzo dei Normanni circuit — the Royal Apartments (open Friday to Monday), the Royal Gardens, the permanent exhibition and the archaeological area. We book it for your chosen date and email it to you.
Are the Royal Apartments always open?
No. The Royal Apartments, including the Sala di Ruggero, open only Friday to Monday. From Tuesday to Thursday they are closed and the visit focuses on the chapel and the rest of the circuit, at the same ticket price. Choose a Fri–Mon date if the apartments matter to you.
Is entry at a fixed time?
No — your ticket is valid for the whole day you choose, within opening hours. You don't need to arrive at an exact minute. We recommend early morning or later afternoon to avoid the mid-morning coach groups.
What happens on Sundays?
On Sundays and religious holidays the chapel closes to visitors for Mass from about 09:45 to 11:15, and overall hours are shorter, with last admission around midday. If you're visiting on a Sunday, aim for early morning or just after Mass.
Do children need a ticket?
Children under 13 enter free but must be accompanied by a paying adult. For ages 14–17 choose the Youth ticket. Please carry proof of age at the entrance.
Who qualifies for the reduced and senior prices?
Reduced entry is for EU citizens aged 18–25 and for teachers; the senior price is for EU citizens aged 65 and over. Bring valid photo ID or proof — it is checked at the entrance.
How and when will I get my ticket?
After you book, our team arranges your dated entry and emails it to you, usually well before your visit. You show it at the entrance on your chosen day. If we ever can't secure your date, we contact you and refund in full.
Is there a dress code?
The Cappella Palatina is a consecrated chapel, so modest dress that covers shoulders and knees is expected, along with quiet inside. Flash photography, tripods and selfie sticks are not permitted.
